Two thieves rob Game Stop store – stupid evident

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before – Two men walk into a videogame store to rob it. Unfortunately for these idiots, the robbery was caught on store camera.

The Game Stop Store in the 3400-block of Cooper sells a lot of high-end video equipment, so when robbers came in they ignored the cash register and took merchandise.

As the robbery progressed the tape is still recording as a young boy walks into the store. As the gunman confronts the first boy and orders him to the ground. A second boy walks into the store, sees what’s happening and also gets on the ground.

Looking at the video, it appears that the men stole the PlayStation 3 consoles. Guess there weren’t even enough Nintendo Wii consoles for them to get those. Too bad, since that’s the system everyone wants now.

According to the story, one of the two robbers has already been caught. No word on how much the gaming systems sold for. (via Kotaku)

Nicole Richie to grow the stagnant end of the gene pool

Well, what can be done? Unfortunately, we’re not allowed to stop people from reproducing just because they inhabit the shallow end of the gene pool.

After months of rumors, Nicole Richie confirmed Tuesday that she is pregnant.

“Yes I am. We are,” Richie told ABC News’ Diane Sawyer in an interview to be aired this week. “I’m almost four months.”

I know. I’m hateful. But really, she and Paris are responsible for a lot of the bad that is reality television that we have to suffer through these days. Not the first, but some of the worst.

Man, people like this really peeve me. Enough for me to feel we need harsher punishments for people who intentionally cause harm to children – thus the price of one bullet question above.

Every time I read crap like this, I think how much we need another update to the comic character Vigilante (and his updated version known as Vigilante). Read the full article to get a better idea of just how bad this was. I’ve left out some of the more disturbing details. Sounds like the kind of thing that would make one of the children who have since moved out turn all Samuel L Jackson on the worthless ass of this woman some day.

Aquafina – water from the same tap you use

Yes folks, that bottled water you like so much comes from the same place your tap water does.

PepsiCo Inc. is the latest company to offer some clarity about the source of its top-selling bottled water, announcing Friday it will change Aquafina labels to spell out that the drink comes from the same source as tap water.

The group Corporate Accountability International has been pressuring bottled water sellers to curb what it calls misleading marketing practices. It says the Aquafina label’s mountain logo perpetuates the misconception that the water comes from springs.

Makes me think of the episode of Penn and Teller’s Bullshit in which they tested perceptions of tap water sold as bottled water based on price and descriptions of each water type. Yes, we are, on the whole, idiotic consumers.

Pentagon had plans for a gay bomb

I’m noticing the WTF? category often coincides with the Stupid category on the blahg. Well, in instances like this, I think that is a reasonably accurate way to categorize the information that follows.

A Berkeley watchdog organization that tracks military spending said it uncovered a strange U.S. military proposal to create a hormone bomb that could purportedly turn enemy soldiers into homosexuals and make them more interested in sex than fighting.

Pentagon officials on Friday confirmed to CBS 5 that military leaders had considered, and then subsquently rejected, building the so-called “Gay Bomb.”

OK, so they considered and then rejected the idea. But really, the way to make men more interested in sex than in fighting is to, well, suggest they have sex instead of fight. Provided there are enough willing women to put out for the men, that’s the end of the necessary weapons and attack planning.

See, I should be a military planner – I totally understand men’s sexual desires more than the current planners.

Man dies after cops taser him while he choked his granddaughter

I have no idea what to even make of this.

Officers responding to a report of an exorcism on a young girl found her grandfather choking her and used stun guns to subdue the man, who later died, authorities said Sunday.

A bed had been pushed up against the door; the officers pushed it open a few inches and saw Marquez choking his bloodied granddaughter, who was crying in pain and gasping, Tranter said.

A bloody, naked 19-year-old woman who police later determined to be Marquez’s daughter and the girl’s mother was in the room, chanting “something that was religious in nature,” Tranter said.

He was taken out in hand-cuffs, but later stopped breathing. That is just so frikkin’ bizarre that I’m not sure what to make of it. I know the difficulty of dealing with a 3-year-old, but I have never attemped an exorcism not choking the child.

Just shut the hell up – stupidity reigns

I get it.  Don’t objectify women.  Respect.  Dignity.  All that stuff.  But really, I think holding 13-year-old kids to the same standard is fine until you start talking 10 years juvenile detention for horseplay.

Two 13-year-old Oregon boys are facing serious sex charges for allegedly slapping female classmates’ bottoms as a form of horseplay.

“These cases are devastating to children,” he [the DA prosecuting the case] said. “They are life-altering cases.”

So, um, today’s winner of the Blahg’s very first “Shut-the-hell-up-and-stop-being-stupid” award.  Sadly, I suspect I’ll have to award it repeatedly now that it exists.

And some people might disagree with me that the punishment is too harsh, doesn’t fit the act, and all that stuff.  It’s OK.  I’m fine with others being wrong.

I have never been able to use that line more appropriately than now.  It is, perhaps, the most perfect summation of this dreadfully painful to read story that I could envision.

A MAN rammed a pool cue into the rectum of a drunken friend with such force it snapped off, leaving 31 centimetres stuck inside his bowel, the Tasmanian Supreme Court in Hobart has been told.

Roofer Matthew Noel Triffett, 21, who’d previously pleaded guilty to a charge of grievous bodily harm, was given a six-month jail sentence, suspended for two years, and was ordered to perform 140 hours of community service.

He said Triffett thought it was a big joke until the full extent of what he had done was revealed.

In crippling pain, the complainant went home and removed the cue from his rectum.

Disturbing idiots get caught, prosecuted for perversions

See, for the cost of a single bullet each, people like this could be removed from the gene pool, limiting their damage to what they’ve already inflicted on the world.

A woman accused of sexually assaulting her infant daughter and videotaping her husband performing sex acts on two children has pleaded guilty to three counts of child sex assault.

You’ll have to hit Fox news’ web site to read the full disgusting story and the penalties she and her husband face. There is at least one tiny good thing to come of this:

The victimized children have been adopted and are in new homes, authorities said.

I’ve said this too many times, but some people just don’t need to be left around to consume our planetary resources.

Judge gives probation to child molester based on his stature?

Ultimately, the judge’s decision was based on more than the molester’s 5 foot 1 inch height, but that’s the only criteria she apparently mentioned during sentencing.

A judge had valid reasons for sentencing a 5-foot-1 sex offender to probation, even though she cited the offender’s height as part of her rationale, the Nebraska Court of Appeals ruled Tuesday.

An examination by a clinical psychologist and the results of a test used to determine the risk that Richard W. Thompson would reoffend both indicated that Thompson, 52, is neither a pedophile nor a sexual predator, the court said.

I’m not an expert. My opinion means nothing. But based on a number of books I’ve read by people who seem to be experts in criminal behavior, recidivism, and sexual criminals’ rehabilitation prospects, I would guess that the test is probably inaccurate. The judges stated view in court didn’t mention the tests, though.

So I’m sitting here thinking this guy has earned his way to prison, but then I look at you and I look at your physical size. I look at your basic ability to cope with people and, quite frankly, I shake to think what might happen to you in prison because I don’t think you’ll do well in prison

When I was in high school, I had a history teacher who told us that even among criminals, child molesters are viewed badly. He said most child molesters and abusers had to be kept in solitary most of the time to protect them from rape, abuse, and possible death. To me, that sounds exactly like what this molester needs. Only without the protection of solitary. I don’t see why small stature should protect this low-life from that.

Unsurprisingly TSA no flight is wrong again

Some people still don’t get that maintaining a list of names is an idiotic way to determine terrorist threats and using that list to deny airplane entry is beyond moronic. Especially in the case where an 8-year-old boy isn’t allowed to fly home because he’s on the list of known terrorists.

An 8-year-old boy expecting to catch a plane home is denied entry for appearing on a terrorist no-fly list, reported MyFoxKansasCity.com.

Bryan Moore was set to catch his first plane trip when he arrived at an airport in Cortez, Colorado to fly home after visiting his sister, said the report.

According to the story, the TSA rules specify that children aren’t to be barred when their names appear on the list. Of course, given how poorly known the rules are by TSA employees, that’s small comfort in general and it was clearly worthless in this case. That shouldn’t matter, though, because the number of false positives from this are absurdly beyond any acceptable level of lost time due to error. Senator Kennedy has been denied entry to an airplane because of this list. Catherine Stevens, wife of Senator Ted Stevens, has been denied access to planes because her name is close to that of barred singer Cat Stevens. The accuracy of this list has been covered all over the web-o-tubes (hint: it’s horridly low). The problem with non-unique identifiers as blocking a mechanism has been well-covered by many security experts. Yet instead of implementing smarter security, our government just trims 20% off the list and calls it done.

Poor kid just wanted home.

Teens survive own stupidity – Darwin sad

Hey, I have a great idea – let’s taunt 2-ton creatures that can kill us and climb over the fence to make it more exciting!

The Kansas City Zoo plans to press charges against two teenage boys who allegedly climbed into the hippo exhibit and threw rocks at the two-ton mammals, zoo officials said.

Randy Wisthoff, the zoo director, said the boys, both 14, are from St. Louis and were apparently trying to impress a girl.

The massive hippos, which spend much of their days submerged in water, are often considered one of the most dangerous animals in the world.

In case you women ever wondered if you are in fact responsible for all the troubles we men suffer, here’s anecdotal evidence that yes, you really are. We do stupid things trying to impress women. Then 5 years later, you stop opening your legs and we realize our mistake. We’re really that dumb.
