Alanis, could you weigh in on this one?

In a “Do as I say and not as I do” display of idiocy, California State Senator Carole Migden was involved in an accident while talking on her cell phone.

We’re sure somewhere Drew Curtis’s head is exploding over this one: submitted for your perusal, one California State Senator Carole Migden — former voter for a state bill that fines people for using their cellphones while driving — rear-ended her state-issued SUV into a Honda sedan on Highway 12 in Solano County, today. While on her phone.

Not the best display of wisdom, but then again – what can one expect from a politician. Asked for a comment, Alanis Morrisette had this to say.

Offensive line coach in more than one way?

When using email, remember that it is so important to check the To line before sending.

The Steelers confirmed yesterday that one of their employees sent an “inappropriate e-mail” message from the club office to “unintended recipients” last week, violating club and NFL policy.

ProFootballTalk.com, an online blog written by Mike Florio, first reported that Steelers line coach Larry Zierlein inadvertently forwarded an e-mail he received from Doug Whaley, the Steelers’ pro personnel coordinator, to multiple high-level team employees and their secretaries throughout the NFL, including commissioner Roger Goodell.

Oooops.

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here

It is important for men to remember that, as women grow older, it becomes harder for them to maintain the same quality of housekeeping as when they were younger. When you notice this, try not to yell at them. Some are oversensitive, and there’s nothing worse than an oversensitive woman.

My name is Jim. Let me relate how I handled the situation with my wife, Peggy. When I retired a few years ago, it became necessary for Peggy to get a full-time job along with her part-time job, both for extra income and for the health benefits that we needed.

Bandwidth issues clearing up

Between cutting out two animated GIFs that were each close to 1 Meg and renaming the 32K jpeg of Keira Knightly, I dropped bandwidth today to less than 10% of what it was yesteday.  After realizing that most of my bandwidth was going to a Myspace page as I noted in the post before this one, I created a new copy of the jpeg which was being used which was just text indicating that the image was hosted elsewhere.  If you’d like to see who was stealing most of my bandwidth, check out this MySpace page (for as long as my image stays in place).  If the updated background is gone and you’d like to see what was changed, let me know and I’ll post a screenshot of it.

And thanks for visiting, anyone who saw my update.  I’m sorry to do that, but I’ve had more and more people stealing my bandwidth, which costs me money I don’t have available to spend on web hosting.

Sometimes, Gloria confuzzles me

Bill’s great. He’s insightful, entertaining, and intelligent. His wife is also great, as far as I can tell from what he says about her. Sometimes, however, she says confusing things. Clearly Gloria doesn’t recognize the inherent evil in zombies.

“It’s the new movie by the guys who made ‘Shaun of the Dead’ ,” I said. “You liked that movie.”

“I did,” she said, “although I didn’t like all the zombie killing.”

“What?”

“The zombies,” she repeated. “I haven’t played enough video games to get desensitized to violence like you have,” she said, laughing.

She’s good.

“What exactly are you supposed to do with a zombie?” I asked. “Square dance?”

“Well, they used to be people,” she said.

Zombies are evil. Killer zombie pirates are worse. Killer zombie pirate ninja worse still. But hope you never run in to killer zombie pirate ninjas with robot henchmen and frikkin’ pet sharks that walk on land with frikkin’ laser beams. Such a thing could even make Chuck Norris pause. Understand he’d still kill them all, but there would be a brief pause before he starts, just to be sure he’s ready.
